Owner operators Carole and Mike Jackson.
Our little enterprise is located in the Nicola Valley region of British Columbia,
in the city of Merritt. Merritt is about three and a half hours from Vancouver,
and an hour and a half from Kelowna. Current population is about 7500 and growing.
Merritt is the host of the Merritt
Mountain Music Festival, a week in July when a hundred thousand country fans
descend on our little burg, and have a great time.
"Vintage" is a name we adapted because "antiques" is worn out word which is
used for to many things that aren’t really antique. We felt "vintage" encompassed
a greater range of items as well as true antiques. "Brookmere" is the little
hamlet, permanent population about 20, in which we live. It is located in the
mountains about 40 kilometers south of Merritt, and was originally a divisional
point of the famed Kettle Valley Railway.
Mike started out, too many years ago to mention, as a cabinet maker, evolved
into a furniture restorer with a small showroom in Brookmere of restored furniture
items. We had some of our product displayed in a Merritt gallery and framing
shop until the owner retired about six years ago. We took up where he left off,
and today we have a successful and satisfying business. The antiques market
has had it\’s ups and downs, so we have diversified to adopt to current markets.
To that end we took on Moorcroft, Franz, Jim Shore collectibles, Alexandria
Lamps, Brian Dolman and Esther Darlington artwork, as well as the work of other
talented local artists. We enjoy it all, but we will always have our antique
and vintage furniture in stock, as well as a range of vintage collectibles.
We really are a Mom and Pop outfit, so please don’t hesitate to contact us about
the business, we’ll guarantee you a personal answer. Thanks for dropping by.
